Fancy Nancy Party
We just attended my niece's 4th birthday party and I had to share some of the cute details. I know my sister in-law was on a very limited budget, but I think it turned out so darling. And if your little girl doesn't know about Fancy Nancy, fix that, asap! It is a darling series!

The House that We Built
We are in the midst of a huge building project. Sometimes I pinch myself--I can't believe we are building another house. We've had so many arguments discussions about each and every detail. Building can be such a headache, I can see why people just purchase from a builder. And as painstaking as it can be sometimes, I realized today how blessed I am to have this opportunity and to have options and choices.
Right now we are in the midst of picking paint colors, tile, and pretty soon carpet. I can't believe we are getting so close to the end! YIPEE!!!
Here are some pictures of what the house looks like right now.

Sorry for the crappy iPhone photos! We had virtually no light at that point.

DAILY BATTLE
Get dressed, comb hair. Easy enough. But not for my 3 year old. Some days, although very rarely, I do not pick this battle with her. But most days I figure, everyone and their dog gets up and gets dressed--and so will this child. Today I had been battling with her about combing her hair for 35 minutes when I momentarily gave up and she went up to see her grandparents.
My dad says, “Why do you give your mommy such a hard time?”
And what does she say?
“Because I like to.”
Yup. That’s my kid.
What You Waiting For?
I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a blog for awhile now….and after writing posts in my mind while lying awake at night for weeks, I've decided enough is enough. I need a creative outlet. And I realize having a short story published in the 8th grade newspaper doesn't in fact qualify me as a writer. However, I like it. And I want to.
So let’s do this.
